Denise Kearns plans and implements national air quality programs aimed at reducing pollution from cars and trucks as mandated by the Clean Air Act, transportation and energy legislation. Her current responsibilities include ongoing research and analysis of regulatory and business trends in vehicle manufacturing, technologies and operational strategies, transportation planning, urban development, international commerce and public engagement. Denise’s research findings and analyses are used to identify and evaluate options, write issue summaries, and present briefings to senior EPA management that contribute to policy development, regulations and program direction. She also writes and edits environmental reports, web content, program, industry and consumer-based fact sheets. Denise routinely represents EPA at government, industry and nongovernmental conferences and meetings by speaking, organizing and participating in panels, webinars, exhibits, and workshops.
