Japen Hollist

Vice President for Strategic Sourcing and Procurement

Japen Hollist is Vice President for Strategic Sourcing and Procurement at Aflac, the number one provider of supplemental insurance in the United States. In this role, Hollist leads the Fortune 132 Companys procurement efforts while ensuring Aflacs responsible relationship with external suppliers. He joined Aflac in 2006, working as a Project Manager in IT and then as a Consultant in Strategic Partnerships. Hollist is a US Army Reserve Officer, where he has served as a commander of Air Assault Infantry and Drill Sergeant Units. He has worked as a contract project manager for DeVry Inc; as a business development manager and alliance manager for two dotcom startups; as a financial advisor for American Express Financial Advisors and for New England Financial (a MetLife subsidiary), where he also sold Aflac insurance. Mr. Hollist spent two years as a full-time missionary in Veracruz, Mexico, where he developed a cultural appreciation and functional ability to converse in Spanish. He is the company’s primary representative to the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where Aflac is both a member and sponsor. A graduate of the Harvard University Extension School with a masters degree focusing on corporate sustainability, Japen has also earned a bachelors degree in international relations and a masters degree in geography from Brigham Young University.
