Judy leads the Center for Environmental Health’s campaign to assist large purchasers, including government and educational institutions, health care organizations, private corporations and designers, on how to identify, prefer, and harness their purchasing power to promote the use of environmentally preferable products. She is the author of articles and purchaser guides, and she also co-authored successful State legislation requiring the labeling of safer furniture products. She serves on the EPAs subcommittee to evaluate private eco-labels to inform the federal government purchase of environmentally preferable furniture. In 2015, Judy received the International Interior Design Association Leadership Award of Excellence for her work in the area of reducing the use of harmful flame retardant chemicals.
