Kendra is a Staff Scientist at Friends of the Earth leading agroecology work as part of the Food and Technology Campaign. She is a writer, researcher, and advocate with over thirteen years of experience in environmental sustainability, food and agriculture, and environmental health. Kendra is also a lecturer at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. Prior to joining Friends of the Earth, she coordinated the California Healthy Food in Health Care campaign at Physicians for Social Responsibility and worked as a Program Associate at Breast Cancer Action. Kendra has apprenticed on organic farms in California and Hawaii. She is a 2011 Switzer Environmental Fellow and has written for The Nation, Gastronomica, Civil Eats, GoodFoodWeb.org, as well as multiple peer-reviewed academic journals. She holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Miami University of Ohio and a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy & Management from UC Berkeley.
