Michelle Bhattacharyya

Michelle Bhattacharyya serves as the Coordinator of the Global Living Wage Coalition. The Coalition brings together Fairtrade International, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Goodweave, Rainforest Alliance, Sustainable Agriculture Network, Social Accountability International (SAI) and UTZ, and with the ISEAL Alliance aims to develop living wage benchmarks globally, using the Anker methodology of calculation, and based on a single definition of living wage, as a critical step to enable industries to move towards paying a living wage. Before her time working directly for the Coalition through ISEAL, Michelle represented SAI’s interests in the Coalition and served as the Director of Operations for Social Accountability International (SAI). Michelle earned her Master of Public Administration degree with an international public and nonprofit management and policy specialization at NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and her Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
