  • The 2017 Summit has been awarded with a 96% Waste Diversion from Landfill Certification by GreenCircle Certified, LLC. The 96% waste diversion rate from landfills and incineration during our time at the Hotel constitutes the greatest efforts of our Summits yet, exceeding the 2015 Summit diversion rate of 95%. Sustainable Solutions analyzed all waste streams at the venue, including baled cardboard, single stream recyclables, food waste and break room waste such as plastic products. Of the 1,309 pounds of waste material generated by the Summit, 917 was composted, 340 was recycled, and only 52 went to landfill.

  • Apex Clean Energy sponsored the Summit to go 100% renewable energy powered and carbon neutral. Apex’s BalkoWindFarm supplied carbon offsets and renewable energy credits to cover energy used by the meeting venue and hotel, as well as attendee travel and waste generation.
