Yalmaz Siddiqui

VP, Corporate Sustainability

As Vice President of Corporate Sustainability, Yalmaz Siddiqui is responsible for leading a range of environmental sustainability initiatives for the company, including sustainable sourcing, employee engagement, green conventions, food waste reduction and waste management. In addition, Siddiqui will provide leadership and oversight for the development of an advanced sustainability strategy framework for MGM Resorts, including metrics and goals, project accountability, roles, and reporting strategy.

Siddiqui brings an extensive background in corporate sustainability to his new role. He most recently served as Senior Director of Sustainability at Office Depot. During his ten-year tenure with the global company, he was responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of a series of social and environmental sustainability programs across the organization. While at Office Depot, Siddiqui helped the company increase sales of environmentally preferable products from $1.2 billion to $3.2 billion; reduced carbon emissions by more than 40 percent; and achieved recognition from Newsweek Magazine as America’s #1 large green retailer for three consecutive years.

He also served as a management consultant at IBM and PwC for a decade where he focused on business-to-business customer relationship management and performance improvement strategy.

Siddiqui was Founding Chair, and is currently on the Board of the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council, a multi-stakeholder effort working on defining, measuring and recognizing sustainable purchasing by large organization. He has a Masters degree in Environment & Development from the University of Cambridge in England and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Canada.
