Annie Bevan is a sustainability professional with over 10 years of experience working with organizations to develop processes, procedures, and standards to analyze and certify various sustainability claims in products, buildings, and within manufacturing operations. She represents a unique expertise in contributing to the development and robustness of numerous programs and is now working independently to create collaboration in the marketplace with a personal mission to make sustainability more simple. She is driven by a passion to create positive change through collaboration and is inspired by the interconnectivity of all things in both nature and business.
Annie is widely regarded within the marketplace as an expert in third-party verification and sustainable program development. Annie previously held positions as the Vice President of Certification Services at GreenCircle Certified, LLC, until starting Sustainability Made Simple, LLC, her own independent organization in 2017. Through SMS, she currently holds contracting positions as both a Staff Technical Liaison to the Materials and Resources section for the US Green Building Council as well as Sustainability Manager for Superior Essex. She sits as a technical advisor to: the the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the Department of Defense, Clean Production Action and the GreenScreen Program, the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council, the ASTM E 60 Committee, and the Collaborative for High Performing Schools, among other organizations.
