Dr Mervyn is an independent sustainability and resource efficiency professional who is currently supporting the UNEP SPP Working Group 4c on circular procurement and resource efficient business models. He has recently contributed to the EU Innocat project for sustainable catering and previously to the development of the UNEP Food Waste Reduction pilots.
He has over 25 years of experience working for governments, bodies, agencies and private sector business sectors improving sustainability and resource efficiency. He headed up various programmes at UK WRAP and experience includes strategy and programme implementation – including capacity building and training – for Circular Economy; Food & Packaging waste reduction; Sustainable Products, Sustainable Procurement, Sustainable Construction; and, Sustainable Events (ISO20121) including training at Rio2016.
