Environmental Engineer, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Wesley (“Wes”) Ingwersen specializes in life cycle assessment at the US Environmental Protection Agency’s National Risk Management Research Laboratory, leading Agency LCA work primarily in the areas of tool and data standards development. Wes is the EPA lead on the Federal LCA Commons initiative and the Global Network of LCA databases, and represents EPA on the board of the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment. He has directed development of openLCA and related tools like WARM, led a sustainable supply chain cooperative research agreement with Procter & Gamble, developed new data quality assessment methods, been a leading author of an international guidance document on product category rules, and now is the technical and project lead of the USEEIO model. He earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida and a B.A. degree from Georgetown University.
