Mapping Tomorrow's Harvest: Help Shape a New WWF Tool
Climate change is creating growing risks for farms and the supply chains that depend on them. To help farmers and food supply chain partners prepare, WWF is developing the concept for a free, open-source, farmer-informed tool (more information below) that will provide farm-level insights into the economic impacts of climate-related crop risks over a 1–10 year timeframe and help identify strategies for building resilience.
Join WWF and SPLC for an interactive session to learn about the project—and help shape it. WWF will share its vision, development progress, and early prototype, then invite participants to weigh in through polls, questions, and real-time feedback. You'll have the opportunity to share what data and functionality you need, how a tool like this could support resilient procurement and supply chain strategies, and what would make it genuinely useful in practice.
Your feedback will help inform what WWF builds next—and there will also be opportunities to get involved.

Project Details
Globally, farms, and the supply chains they support, are at a tipping point. Where and how we grow food, including commodity row crops, specialty crops, and livestock, are going to need to change. As climate change accelerates, yields are expected to drop 8-20%, devastating our food system. This will lead to broken supply chains, economic ruin, and environmental harm as farmers are forced to first increase the use of inputs (e.g. fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation) and ultimately to transform natural lands into additional farmland.
Instead of being reactive, we can be proactive, building the tools farmers and the food supply chain need to adapt methods, anticipate new issues and trends, and build resilient farms of tomorrow, protecting both people and nature. WWF’s goal is to create a farmer-informed, open-source, free-to-farmer tool that provides medium-term (1-10 year) economic impacts at an individual farm level of crop-climate risks and how to mitigate those risks and build resilience. This global tool will give farmers and the food supply chain the system it needs to adapt – such as how to adapt practices, crops, and methods.
WWF has started building a coalition of partners and created a small prototype to share and get feedback. They are now eager to share the outlines of their project and goals, update on where they are right now, and get your input, insights, and feedback on what data you need, what functionality is required, and how this tool can be useful in building resilient procurement and supply chain strategies.
