CERO & Boston University: Supporting Supplier Diversity Through Composting
Brought to you by SPLC and our Higher Ed Partner NAEP
Don’t miss this presentation on the 2024 SPLC Leadership Award winning case study for Supplier Leadership!
Boston University’s (BU) Zero Waste Plan calls for the institution to reach 90% waste diversion by 2030. BU has partnered with CERO, a local, small, certified minority- and woman-owned business, to divert food waste on campus. CERO diverts BU’s food waste to its highest and best use and supports the local community and CERO’s worker-owners. Join us to learn more about this partnership that is in its fourth year of operation and continues to expand compost collection sites on campus.
Attendees will gain actionable insights into how to integrate diverse, local businesses into their sustainability initiatives, fostering both environmental impact and community economic development. You'll discover strategies for successful long-term partnerships that advance zero-waste goals while simultaneously strengthening supplier diversity programs.
