WEBINAR RECAP: Best Practices for Sustainable Procurement through Amazon Business

Webinar Recaps,

Every year, 5 million organizations spend $25 billion through Amazon Business. Over the last several years, Amazon has invested in changes to its offerings for institutional purchasers prioritizing sustainability.  SPLC partnered with Amazon Business to convene an Online Purchasing Action Team to develop guidance to enable sustainable procurement with currently available tools and to provide recommendations for future improvements.

On April 25th, over 100 people tuned in live to hear from our panelists. Johanna Anderson, SPLC's Director of Learning & Member Engagement, started the program by sharing the background on why SPLC convened the Online Purchased Action Team. She also shared a high-level overview of the guidance document from that team, "Best Practices for Sustainable Procurement through Amazon Business" (you can get your free copy using the buttons below).

Members of the action team from Arizona State University and Stanford University shared how using the best practices helps them achieve their sustainability goals, their perspective on why leveraging these best practices is essential, and how they overcame implementation barriers within their organization.

Finally, Anthony Jenkins, Sr. Product Manager, Sustainability at Amazon Business, closed the webinar with a live tour of the Amazon Business platform.
